About QBIO

Who we are

QBIO is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing research, education, and innovation in service of society and the environment. Founded by a multidisciplinary team of scientists, educators, and professionals, we operate at the intersection of applied research, technological and social innovation, and capacity building.

We foster a collaborative and inclusive ecosystem that connects academia, research institutes, civil society, industry, and public institutions. We support both fundamental and applied research, with a focus on societal relevance, environmental responsibility, and knowledge valorisation.

Vision

A sustainable, equitable, and knowledge-driven society

We aim to build a dynamic ecosystem where research excellence meets societal relevance, and where scientific knowledge is accessible, actionable, and inclusive. By connecting people, ideas, and institutions, we contribute to the green and digital transitions, strengthen social and environmental resilience, and support innovation that is ethical, open, and impactful.

Through initiatives, partnerships, and capacity building, we seek to contribute to long-term societal transformation locally, nationally, and across Europe, and to deliver measurable impact by translating knowledge into practice and scaling effective solutions.

We translate this mission into action through initiatives that prioritise real-world relevance, ethical standards, and measurable progress towards the green and digital transition, enabling cooperation across academia, research institutes, civil society, the private sector, and public institutions at national and international levels.
